Writer. Parent. Feminist. Ardent sarcasm enthusiast. Overly-sensitive malcontent and unapologetic feelings-haver. Lover of good beer, fresh bread, orange cats, bearded men, and certain babies in particular.
In the past few years, I’ve gone from single in the city to married with a baby in the suburbs. I’m still learning to be in this new space, and although life keeps me pretty busy, through all the busy-ness there’s also lots of time to think about what it all means. There’s far less time to actually type out and share those thoughts, but I figured I’d give it a shot. It’s worked out pretty well so far.
Since I started blogging here in 2015, my work has been published on other sites too, which is pretty much a dream come true. You can see some of the places my writing has appeared at the bottom of this page. I also write a regular column, Dear Pre-Baby Me, over at Sammiches & Psych Meds.
In 2016, VancouverMom.ca named me one of its Top 30 Vancouver Mom Bloggers (not the top one, mind you; world domination takes time, y’all, as does … local domination? Is that a thing?). Being a top Vancouver Mom Blogger is super cool and makes me feel an appropriate amount of special (i.e. extremely snowflakey). I bring it up every time I argue with my husband, as incontrovertible evidence that I am right.
this slow process (also known as “what’s the deal with my blog name?”)
At one of our early post-partum visits, the nurse referred to the first year of parenthood as “this slow process of falling in love”. I thought that was kind of beautiful … so here we are.
I’m glad we found each other.

Well, don’t shoot it, actually. Just send it. Don’t worry; it’ll still reach me.
