Oh, hello there.
This slow process is PR friendly. That means I’m happy to work with brands I like, and that my readers might be interested in. If you’re a brand, now you feel patronized because of course you know what it means and you didn’t need me to explain it. I just learned it, though, so now I can refer to this page in case I forget.
A hundred years ago when I lived in Toronto I worked in sales, and what I learned from that was that I’m not a natural salesperson. That turned out to be a strength, though, because I was able to talk to clients in a normal, non-salesy way, so I actually pulled down some pretty decent numbers (resulting in a great bonus which I squandered on restaurant meals, booze, and ultimately a one-way ticket back to BC because man, did I ever hate that job). It’s funny how that works, isn’t it?
I do have a point, and it’s this: I love telling stories, and my audience loves reading them. If you partner with me, I’ll help you tell your brand’s story in a way that’s authentic and unique, without being sales-y.
Here are some things I love:
- scuba diving
- grocery shopping (yes, really)
- pretty much anything that involves sitting at home on my couch
- family-friendly activities in my community (I’m based in Metro Vancouver)
- non-family-friendly activities in my community (because like most parents, I’m also a grown-up who likes grown-up things)
Here are some things I do not love:
- blue cheese
- cleaning my house
- sexy Halloween costumes
- the word “mommyhood”
- the Chicago Blackhawks
